Unlocking Cross-Border Fintech Synergies: AFSI and Fintech Association Uzbekistan Forge Strategic Partnership

Tashkent, Uzbekistan – October 3, 2024 – The Indonesia Sharia Fintech Association (AFSI), represented by its General Treasurer, Rama Yurindra, and the Fintech Association Uzbekistan, led by Chairwoman Nargis Dustmatova, have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the FinTech & Banking Forum 2024 in Tashkent (3 – 4 October). The MoU marks a significant step toward fostering collaboration between the two nations, particularly in fintech innovation and Sharia financial technology.

The agreement, signed on the first day of the prestigious event, outlines key areas of cooperation between the associations. These include sharing best practices and expertise in innovative and high-tech fintech solutions, fintech development, and participating in investment-related activities. Both parties will also explore opportunities to join projects and programs to drive innovation in Uzbekistan’s financial sector.

Additionally, the MoU commits to collaborative efforts to develop joint recommendations for improving legislation in information and communication technologies (ICT), fostering an enabling regulatory environment for fintech. Another important aspect of the agreement is the creation of joint educational programs to boost literacy and empower talent within the fintech industry. The partnership will also facilitate organizing mutual events, seminars, and workshops to strengthen ties between the Indonesian and Uzbek fintech ecosystems.

On the second day of the conference, Rama Yurindra took the stage as a panelist to introduce the landscape of Sharia fintech in Indonesia, shedding light on the rapid growth and evolving ecosystem driving the country’s Sharia fintech sector. His participation provided valuable insights to stakeholders from across the region, showcasing Indonesia’s leadership in Sharia financial innovation.
